You need the following to connect to the Internet using an Ethernet connection:

1. RJ 45/Cat 5 Ethernet cable
   
2. Network Interface Card (NIC)

Notes:
Many new computers/laptops come with Ethernet built-in. It is normally located in the same region as the keyboard and mouse ports.
This is a PCI Adapter. It is not in the same area as most of the other ports. It is possible to install a NIC if your computer does not come with one.
